Welcome to our project

The MEDICINET Project is considered as the first serious large-scale effort focusing to the cooperation of hospitals in the field of emergency and urgent medical issues. It was developed jointly by people working in the hospitals of Komotini (Greece) and Kardjali (Bulgaria), taking into consideration the real needs of the medical services in both areas.

It should be noticed that MEDICINET Project was the project with the highest budget among all the approved projects within the two first calls for the European Territorial Cooperation Program Greece – Bulgaria 2007-2013...




Project Background

In the Greece – Bulgaria cross-border area, there is already significant health infrastructure. However, the dispersion of health establishments and the quality of health service provided is unbalanced between rural and urban centers.


Health is the most important dimension of human life. The overall objective of the MEDICINET project is to develop common actions which aim to upgrade quality of life in order to promote the Cross Border Area by Ensuring Cohesion and Enhancing Competitiveness.

Expected results

The MEDICINET project is expected to contribute significantly to the upgrade of the quality of life ensuring cooperation and networking on Health and Social welfare issues.
